A properly printed and cured DTG garment typically lasts the life of the shirt. The common industry benchmark for decorated apparel is around fifty washes, and well executed DTG generally meets or exceeds it, softening with the garment rather than cracking off it. Wash inside out in cold water and dry on low.

DTG performs best on one hundred percent cotton and high cotton blends, because the water based inks bond to natural fibers. High polyester and performance fabrics are less predictable. If your program calls for performance fabric, screen printing or dye sublimation is usually the better route, and we offer both.

Yes. Dark garments are printed with a white ink underbase laid down beneath the color, so the artwork reads accurately instead of disappearing into the shirt. A pretreatment lets that white ink sit up on the fibers, which is what makes colors look bright on black and navy.

DTG is usually cheaper on small runs and screen printing wins as quantity climbs. Screen printing carries fixed setup per color and per location, so the first shirts are expensive and the hundredth is cheap. DTG has no setup at all. We run both in house and will quote whichever is the better value.
