Frequently Asked Questions

You do not have to decide on your own. Tell us what you are making and our Client Services and design teams match the method to the material, the run size, and the level of detail in your artwork. As a rough guide: apparel goes to screen printing, direct-to-garment, or embroidery; curved and molded hard goods go to pad printing; metal, wood, and acrylic go to laser engraving; coated hard goods go to dye sublimation.

Acrylic, which takes a clean frosted high-definition finish; hardwoods including maple, oak, mahogany, and walnut; and metals such as aluminum, steel, stainless, copper, and brass — including burning through enamel or anodized coatings for a high-contrast mark. We run four laser engravers across two locations, using both CO2 and YAG systems so the right laser is matched to the material.

Pad printing supports precise PMS color matching, so brand colors reproduce accurately. Embroidery lets you use multiple thread colors at no extra charge. Dye sublimation and direct-to-garment are full-color processes with no color limits, and our artists optimize your logo for whichever process you choose.

No. Our in-house art department works from whatever you have — professional electronic files, a rough sketch, or just an idea. A designer will build the artwork from scratch, refine what you sent, or adapt your existing files, then prepare concept proofs and revise them until you are completely satisfied.

Yes. Pad printing transfers your artwork from a printing plate to the product with a silicone pad, so it prints cleanly on concave, convex, curved, and rippled surfaces that defeat other methods. It also holds finer detail than standard screen printing, which is why it is the standard for medical, automotive, electronics, and sports-equipment parts.

Sublimation ink bonds into the surface under heat and pressure, and hard goods need a specific coating to accept it. That is why the process is limited to prepared materials — fiber board, polyester cloth, coated metals, and ceramics — covering items such as coffee mugs, steins, shot glasses, license plates, mouse pads, and ceramic tiles.
