Sparta Pewter USA Army National GuardCatalog 2026/2784 items

The Guard year,item by item.

Eighty-four things units actually order, arranged by when they order them and which budget line pays.

Fifteen states have signed one of these.

Sparta casts, prints and engraves for Army National Guard units. A die-struck belt buckle numbered 001 upward for a 103-piece formation. Spear-head coins, numbered 001 to 250, for Nevada’s Recruiting and Retention office. A ten-by-ten canopy for Indiana with a full back wall. Cornhole boards for Florida, a tomahawk for Texas, a messenger bag for Tennessee, cufflinks and decanters for South Carolina, Crocs charms for New Hampshire.

This catalog is built from those orders. Every one of them was branded to the state rather than to a generic national mark, and every one of them started as a proof somebody on the unit side signed before a single piece was made.

October

New Fiscal Year, New Mission

The federal fiscal year turns over on 1 October and the recruiting mission resets with it. This is when a Recruiting and Retention Battalion restocks the table: the handouts that leave by the hundred at a high school visit, an ASVAB session or a storefront walk-in.

Who buys it
Marketing NCO (79T), Recruiting & Retention Battalion
What pays for it
RRB marketing and advertising funds
Watch for
Low-cost bulk handouts sit outside the $50 recognition-item rule. Artwork carrying the ARNG logo still has to show an approved call-to-action.

December 13

The Guard’s Birthday, 1636

The Massachusetts Bay General Court mustered the North, South and East Regiments on 13 December 1636, which makes the National Guard older than the country it serves. December 2026 is the 390th. Every state headquarters marks it, and it is the one date on the calendar that belongs to the Guard alone.

Who buys it

What pays for it
Unit operating funds. Association or private funds for anything outside them.
Watch for
Heritage pieces run long: art, then mould, then production. Start in early October for a 13 December ceremony.

How Guard units buy this

10 U.S.C. § 2261
Appropriated funds may buy recognition items, meaning coins, medals, trophies, badges, flags and similar, valued at under $50 each for recruiting and retention. Those may be presented to members and to the family members who support their service. Low-cost bulk handouts are handled separately from this rule.
Micro-purchase threshold
The federal threshold has been $15,000 since 1 October 2025, but Army policy still publishes $10,000 and individual cardholder limits are set locally and are often lower. Design the order around $10,000 unless your card says otherwise. Above the threshold and up to the simplified acquisition threshold, promotional-item buys are set aside for small business.
NGR 601-1 and ANGI 36-2602
Guard-specific ceilings for presentation items and award items sit in NGR 601-1, revised 1 April 2025. Air Guard recruiting and retention runs under ANGI 36-2602. Those figures get updated. Confirm the current ones with your USPFO or your R&R chain before you lock a spec, because we would rather quote to the right number the first time. Nothing on this page is contracting advice.

The things units actually ask

Who in a unit usually places an order like this?
On the Army side it is most often the Marketing NCO (79T) or the Recruiting and Retention Battalion. The production authorisations in our files come back signed by exactly those offices, from Camp Mabry to Concord to Carson City. On the Air side it is the RROIC, the RRSEL or the wing Retention Office Manager. Commanders, first sergeants, career counsellors and family program directors order the ceremony and recognition pieces. We are used to working with all of them, and to sending a proof to one address and an invoice to another.
Can appropriated funds pay for this, and is there a dollar limit?
10 U.S.C. § 2261 lets appropriated funds buy recognition items valued at under $50 each for recruiting and retention, and those may go to members and to family members who support their service. Low-cost bulk handouts are treated separately. The Guard-specific ceilings live in NGR 601-1, revised 1 April 2025. Confirm the current figures with your USPFO before you set a spec.
Can we put our unit crest or the National Guard logo on it?
We decorate from the artwork you supply, and you hold the authorisation for it. That is the normal arrangement and it is how every order behind this catalog was run. Two things worth knowing. Organisational insignia on a manufactured item needs written permission from the Army Trademark Licensing Program under 32 CFR 507.10, and decorations, service medals and ribbons may not be reproduced on merchandise at all. If a piece carries the ARNG or ANG logo, the branding guidelines also require an approved call-to-action on it, meaning NATIONALGUARD.COM, NATIONALGUARD.COM/[STATE] or 1-800-GO-GUARD, and the national and state logos never appear together on the same item.
We have a ceremony date. What is the lead time?
Lead time is driven by the decoration method more than by the quantity. Decorated apparel, drinkware and printed goods move fastest. Large-format display pieces sit in the middle. Anything with a mould, meaning coins, pewter crests, statues and belt buckles, runs art approval, then tooling, then production, so give those the most runway. Tell us the date when you ask for the quote and we build the schedule backwards from it.
What are the minimums?
They vary by item and by decoration method rather than by one site-wide rule, and the economics are driven by set-up. On anything struck or cast the die is amortised across the run, which is why a small quantity costs more per piece and a larger one costs much less. Ask for the break chart with your quote and you will see exactly where the price steps.
Do we get to see it before it is made?
Yes. A free digital proof on every order, and revisions until it is right. Nothing goes into production until someone on your side signs the production authorisation. Every item in this catalog was produced that way.

Tell us the date and the formation size.

Send the unit, the occasion, the date it has to be in hand, and roughly how many. We come back with a quote and a free digital proof.
