1Our Commitment
Sparta Pewter USA, Inc. is committed to making its websites usable by the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe every customer should be able to browse our products, request a quote, and place an order independently and with dignity.
That commitment matters to us for a specific reason. Sparta Pewter was founded in 1983 by a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, and we have supplied the military and veteran community for more than four decades. A meaningful number of the people we serve are disabled veterans. Accessibility is not a compliance exercise for us.
2Conformance Status
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG defines requirements for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Our current status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of our websites do not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively identifying and remediating those areas.
We have chosen WCAG 2.2 Level AA rather than the older 2.1 standard because it is the current version and includes additional requirements that materially improve usability — including minimum target sizes for touch controls, alternatives to drag-based interactions, consistent placement of help, avoidance of redundant data entry, and authentication that does not depend on memory or transcription.
3Measures We Take
To support accessibility across our websites, we:
- treat accessibility as a requirement in the design and build of new pages and components, rather than as a retrofit;
- build with semantic HTML, logical heading structure, and programmatically associated form labels;
- maintain visible keyboard focus indicators and a logical focus order;
- test color combinations against WCAG contrast ratios for text and interface components;
- provide text alternatives for meaningful images, including product photography;
- ensure interactive components can be operated by keyboard alone;
- respect user preferences for reduced motion;
- test with keyboard-only navigation and with screen-reader software; and
- review accessibility as part of our process for launching new site sections.
4Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. We disclose them here so that you know what to expect and can request assistance.
- Third-party components. Portions of our site rely on third-party services, including our product search and filtering, payment processing, and embedded media. We do not control their code and their accessibility may vary. We raise defects with those vendors and seek accessible alternatives where a vendor does not remediate.
- Legacy product content. Our catalog is large and some older product images and descriptions may have incomplete or non-descriptive alternative text. We are working through this catalog and prioritizing high-traffic products.
- Uploaded documents. Some catalogs, spec sheets, and other PDF documents predate our current standards and may not be fully tagged for screen-reader use. We will provide an accessible alternative format on request.
- Customer-supplied artwork. Proofs and artwork files supplied by customers are outside our control.
5Accessibility Tools on Our Site
Our websites make available the AccessiYes accessibility widget, which offers adjustments such as text resizing, contrast changes, and cursor modifications.
We want to be straightforward about what this tool is and is not. A third-party accessibility widget is a supplementary convenience. It is not a substitute for an accessible website, and we do not rely on it as our accessibility strategy. Our conformance work is done in the underlying code of the site itself. If the widget does not meet your needs, please use the assistance channels in Section 6 — you should not have to rely on it.

7Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our websites. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us. Where you can, include:
- the web address of the page;
- a description of the problem;
- the browser, operating system, and any assistive technology you were using; and
- how we can reach you.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback promptly, typically within 2 business days, and to provide a substantive response — including a remediation plan or timeline where a defect is confirmed — as quickly as we reasonably can. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you why and offer an alternative way to complete what you were trying to do.
8Assessment Approach
We assess the accessibility of our websites through self-evaluation: internal review by our web team using automated testing tools together with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing.
This statement was last reviewed on August 27, 2026. We review it at least annually and after any significant redesign.
9Standards and Legal Framework
We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the following, as applicable to us:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA — our primary technical standard.
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III — United States.
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — relevant to our sales to U.S. federal government and military customers.
- European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and EN 301 549 — applicable to e-commerce services offered into the European Union.
- Equality Act 2010 — United Kingdom.
10Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is continuing work, not a finished state. Standards evolve, our catalog grows, and we add new site features. We treat accessibility defects as we treat any other defect in our product: something to be found, owned, and fixed.
If we have fallen short somewhere, we would rather hear it from you than not. Please contact us using the details in Section 6.
